YP – "Kelly"
New music from YP. Here he touches on domestic violence, and a situation that happened very close to him – definitely something different than what you’re used to hearing (from any rapper)…

Video: Twista Loves the Kids
Here’s some nice, positive news for a change. On November 17th, Twista and Chicago Bears players Jason McKie and Brandon Lloyd hosted a special event for the children of the Cabrini Green Tutor Program, offering the kids a chance to hang out with some local celebrities, eat pizza and play video games with them. The event turned out to be a great success and you can watch some footage from the event above.
How could you not honor this? Well done, Twista.
Kanye Mentions J-Slikk
Well, he doesn’t exactly mention J by name, but he does admit that he went back to the lab and rerecorded “Love Lockdown” after hearing J Slikk’s spoof. Check out his mention as well as J’s version below.

First the good folks at Converse send me a box of shoes, now a fan and loyal reader sends me the one and only pair of Air FSD’s. Who wants to make the t-shirt go go with it?

Video: Moonie (of L.E.P.) on BET's The Deal
It guess since BET canceled Rap City, they are now running their “Spit Ya Game” segment during a show called The Deal (It looks like it at least, I’m not familiar). Well yesterday, Moonie of L.E.P./Bogus Boys fame, saw his piece run. As you can see, he has some choice words for Sir Yung’in of Berg in response to Berg’s subliminal on Rap City a few months back. The heat is on!
Video: Big Wiz Interview with Upside of Down
Big Wiz Interview with Upside of Down from Andrew Barber on Vimeo.
The homie Wayne MT sent over an inteview Upside of Down did with Big Wiz. It’s lengthy but very imformative. He discusses various tracks from the Welcome 2 L-Town mixtape, his favorite emcees in the city (some of his picks may surprise you), his role as an artist and what producers he’s ready to get in with.
Sidenote: On Monday Wiz and I realized that we shared the same born day (November 17th), so a big Happy (belated) Birthday to him.

Common – "I've Been Pimp'n" (Prod. by J. Dilla)
Some unreleased Common produced by the late great Dilla Dog.
From DJ Eves Laced With Gems mixtape, which you can download for free over at Chicago’s own, The Hip Hop Project. Props to them for coming up on this gem, which should have definitely seen the light of day a long time ago. He’s kicking some real shit on this one.
