Here’s some footage I grabbed from the performance segment of Mikkey Halsted’s “Internet on Lock” party last night. It was dark so some of the footage including Mic Terror and Mick Luter’s performance didn’t come out too well. I’m sure the guys at RH (who sponsored the event along with Uncrowned City) will have some goods as well.
For this segment you can hear Mikkey freestyling (with DJ RTC on the decks), some of Boogz latest production that he showcased and a sneak preview of the Bump J and No ID BANGER of all bangers “Letter To My Competition”. It’s truly one of the dopest tracks I’ve heard in a minute, so listen closely. Shake premiered the joint and also announced that Bump is headed to court today, so here’s to Bump coming home soon.
The event was a huge success with everyone from No ID to Traxster to Prolyfic to Naledge to GLC to SC to Ivy League (and many many more) showing up. Dave Jeff and Que B.I.L.L.A.H. held down the hosting responsibilities while everyone else drank and networked. It was a blessing to see Chicago as a unified movement.
