Lu chats with MTV News regarding Bill O’Reilly comparison of Haiti to Chicago. Wasalu isn’t cosigning Billy, but he does agree with him on that statement.

First and foremost, I just got my hands on an unreleased Mos Def track entitled “The Tournament”, that was scheduled to appear on Mos’ super dope fourth album, The Ecstatic, but for unforeseen reasons, it didn’t make the cut. I know the Mighty Mos isn’t from the Chi, but this is the perfect segue into my next announcement…
Friday’s (1/29) Mos Def & MF DOOM Concert at the Congress Theater (which I’m a sponsor of) has been rescheduled. So if you don’t know, now you know.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the show has been pushed back to February 13th. It’s still at the Congress Theater and all tickets purchased are still valid. You can hit the jump for the press release and more info.
But first, enjoy this unreleased heater…
Mos Def – “The Tournament” [Unreleased]
DOOM featuring Mos Def with Mike Relm at Congress Theater
RESCHEDULED for SATURDAY FEBRUARY 13th
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the DOOM featuring Mos Def show this Friday must be rescheduled for Saturday February 13th. We were informed that a scheduling conflict resulting from miscommunication between artists’ management would make it impossible for Mos Def to make any of his three MOSDOOM dates which include Toronto, New York and Chicago. As they say, the show must go on…for Chicago just two weeks later, amazingly with the entire original lineup, Saturday February 13th!
ALL TICKETS FOR JANUARY 29TH ARE STILL GOOD FOR THE FEBRUARY 13TH SHOW, SO HANG ON TO THOSE TICKETS!
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. But compared to the devastation happening around the world, this is nothing and we can manage if you can. Any ticket holders that can NOT attend the rescheduled date can follow these instructions for a FULL REFUND:
- If you purchased a hard ticket at a retail outlet, such as Gramaphone Records or Sight ’N Sound, simply return to that store where you purchased your ticket. You must bring and turn in your ticket for the refund.
- If you purchased your ticket online and already received it in the mail, you must mail the ticket back to the following PO Box by Saturday February 6th with your information.
ATTN: CLUB TIX
PO Box 220685
Chicago, IL 60622
If you purchased your ticket online and had it waiting at Will Call for you, simply email email@example.com by Saturday February 6th from the email you entered when you purchased your ticket. Simply, tell them your request and include your info.
Man, Wasalu has been on that promo terror as of late. He’s been all over the XM/Sirius and radio circuit this past week. Glad to see him out and about and making the round. Here he talks with Green Lantern regarding Lasers (which Lupe apparently turned in to Atlantic yesterday), his recent leaks and more.
Lupe talks to Green about talks about the leaks (”There’s like another Lupe out there. Everytime I put something out, the hacker Lupe puts something else out.”), climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, not finding out about the earthquake until coming down, his Haiti benefit collabo with Kenna & Mike Shinoda, and the status of Child Rebel Soldier. Lupe closes out with a freestyle.
Now, I haven’t leaked any of that Lupe in well over a year, so I’m not sure where all this stuff is coming from. He really has more unreleased music than the late, great Tupac.
I also read yesterday that Lupe is in talks with Pharrell and Kanye West to rekindle the CRS project. Should I hold my breath?
Another “Behind the Scenes” clip from Jay iLLa’s Revenge of the Backpack’s Vol. 2 sessions. Brandon “n2ition” Riley was on hand, and I’m sure he’s working on the official “BTS” video, but this comes courtesy of iLLa’s flip cam.
“Banned From TV” features YP, Skooda Chose, Lungz, MarVo & Que BILLAH all trading bars over the classic N.O.R.E. beat. I’ve heard the track, and it’s straight fires.
Cameos from Prolyfic, Versatile, Hustle, 2wo and more…

Last night, Really Doe stopped by The Mo’Nique Show in Atlanta for an interview and performance. It was very dope to see Doe holding his own on the couch alongside Mo’Nique and the other guests and then later rip the stage for “Follow Me”. It appears he made a good first impression on the crowd as well.
