I can’t believe this day has come as GLC’s “Clockin’ Lotsa Dollarz” video has finally dropped. This track and video mean a lot to me as this was something GLC let me become involved in over a year ago – not to mention this video shoot was the very first time I ever met the legendary Bun B (and my video partner in crime Brandon “N2ition” Riley).
I know there has been a lot of speculation, but yes, the track (and video) actually feature the real Sir Mix-A-Lot, which was no small feat (imagine having to track down Mr. “Put Em On The Glass”). Chicago-beatsmith, Xcel (who you can find as a security guard in the clip), produced the track, which fits Gangsta L and the Trill O.G. perfectly. Kanye West later came on board to co-produce the track and add his, as GLC calls it, Pimp Glitter to the mix.
Naledge links with DJ MoonDawg for Twentysomething, a collection of all new music in celebration of his Twentysomethingth birthday on September 10th. The project features Naledge alongside some of his dopest peers in the industry including Freddie Gibbs, Mikkey Halsted, GLC, Willie The Kid, Murs, Skyzoo and Big Pooh.
Shouts to all the Twentysomething’s out there. Your 10 years is about up. Ha!

A day after the late, great MJ’s birthday, producer Tall Black Guy drops Tall Black Guy vs. Michael Jackson, a collection of chopped, flipped, remixed and sampled beats from the King of Pop’s tenure. Tall picked his favorite MJ tracks and had his way with them and you can tell a lot of thought and hard work went into this.

Broadway Streetz just blessed me with the first leak off PHLI Music Vol. 2, his second collaborative effort with Dave Jeff and the PHLI brand.
Mikk absolutely blacks out over this Tye Hill production, that flips “Groovin”. And if you can’t respect that, your whole perspective is wack.
Big shouts to Broadway Streetz and the Nance Boyz.

In preparation of J’s upcoming album, Here I Am, which is in the final stages of completion, he’s teaming up with artist, Rodney White and Photographer, Arian Camalleri for The Human Project, a portrait project of sorts.
For those of you new to this experience, it involves photography, painting, and words from the subject to create a one of a kind original piece of artwork.
This is J’s first effort and it’s titled “Life”. Be on the lookout for more pieces in the future and check out their site here.
Twista, in the midst of rich mahogany, talks about his upcoming album The Perfect Storm, which is due out October 26th. Here he talks about what to expect on the album, as well as some of the collabos to lookout for including Chris Brown, Raekwon, Traxster and No ID.
This album is gonna be different, because you’re definitely gonna hear the growth and maturity in the music, that’s one thing for sure,” Twista told MTV News of the project, his eighth overall. “And also, me being able to get back with Traxster, which is the [producer] that did a lot of my original music, like ‘Adrenaline Rush’ and [records] like that, so we bringing that back. And also having jams on there that’s way different, a different style and vibe. Songs like ‘The Heat,’ which was produced by Traxster and No ID. You’ll be able to hear the whole vibe. You’ll hear me tear into it with songs like ‘Three Minute Murder,’ and you gonna hear me on that sexy thing and you gonna hear me do it with that Chi-Town swag.”
Three of the homies on one track. This dope collab is to appear on Trife’s upcoming EP, The Trife Effect, as well as Astonish’s as-yet untitled LP which is due out this Fall.
Look for the video to drop in September. Get ‘em high.
