Halsted leaves for close to six months, and now he’s back in full force. This is his fourth featured record in seven days. It’s safe to he’s back in business.
Over this Biggie-sampled, Bizness-produced banger, Mikkey takes us through a 24 hour day in his neighborhood. Take a look around and see for yourself. Thanks to The Legendary Traxster for liberating.
DOPE….GOOD TO SEE THE ART OF STORYTELLING AIN’T DEAD. ONLY THE GREAT ONES DO THAT.
I fuck wit Mikkey Heavy, But…. I think he could be matched with a better assortment of beats. Not saying that this beat is bad, but it doesn’t match his flow pattern, and you can hear him lliterally stretching out his lyrics in many of his newer shit, well, actually the last few years, none of his older shit sound like that.
Mikkey has fell victim to what has plagued most of hip hop, beats overshaddowing the actual rap artist. Producers need to scale back at times, and let the rapper live, because, fuck a beat if the rhymes are garbage. Again, no hate here, just think Mikkey isn’t being matched with the right treatments. Definitely feeling his storytelling, though.
