If you think about it, Charlie Wilson has had one of the most successful careers of any hip-hop hook-man. As you know, he kicked off his career as part of the storied Gap Band, but hit hip-hop when he was recruited by Snoop Dogg, in his mid-40s, to lay the hook on The Doggfather’s “Snoop’s Upside Ya Head”. After that he was featured on numerous Snoop and Death Row era tracks, and went on to work with the likes of Biggie, UGK, Mystikal and most recently Kanye West.
Here we have some footage of Charlie and Ye working on some G.O.O.D. Music in the lab. Charlie’s solo set, Just Charlie, drops December 7th.
