Video: Mic Terror – Hiooo

| January 26, 2011 | 12 Comments

Directed by Kameo Did It

Chicago’s new video king drops two new clips in one day?  This can’t be life.  This joint is very dope.

“Hiooo” has been a Chicago staple for quite some time, so I’m glad it’s finally getting the proper video treatment.  It will also be added into rotation on MTV shortly, so that’s big for the Terrorist.  The vid features the original version of the track as well as the Million $ Mano/Flosstradamus remix edit.

“Hiooo” is also now available for purchase on iTunes, where you can pick up the whole EP for $3 bucks.

Voyce G.I. took Prolyfic’s Beats I Made On The MPC for his own and used it to craft his new EP, Prolyfic Voyce. Pretty cool huh? The EP drops next Tuesday, along with a video for the track below.

L.E.P. Bogus Boys Offered Deals by Sony & Warner Bros

| January 26, 2011 | 11 Comments

After all of their recent successes, is reporting that the Bogus Boys are currently being courted by Sony, Warner Bros. and E1, among others.  They also told XXL that they have a new album on the way, entitled Now or Neva.  Things are looking up for the collective with the frowny face logo.

“The labels are calling right now, Warner called, E1 called, Sony called,” Count told XXL. “So we just want to make sure that you know we’re kind of having fun right now doing it ourselves and having our own control. Before we decide we’re going to jump in another deal we want to make sure we do everything we can and see if we can go nationally with it, and see if a label can even do what we need to do. If not we’ll just keep doing us.”

Signed to Sony back in the mid 2000s, the Chi-Town duo got lost in the shuffle when the label’s Urban Division shut down. Since leaving, L.E.P. have been making a lot of noise on the blog sites and in their Chicago hometown, especially of the success of their Coodie & Chike directed videos for “Going In for the Kill” and “Ginger.”

Count tells XXL that the group is currently working with the fellow Windy City duo on a full movie entitled The Bogus Boys.

In addition, Count and Moonie are recording a new street album called Now or Neva.

Video: Freddie Gibbs – The Coldest

My favorite track off Gangsta Gibbs’ Str8 Killa EP gets the video treatment (sort of), with an in studio performance of “The Coldest”, featuring BJ The Chicago Kid. No BJ?  No problem.  Ayo!

I still think they need an official clip for this shot in a meat locker, but that’s just me.

Juelz Santana Speaks On Missing Chicago Concert

| January 25, 2011 | 1 Comment

This past weekend, Juelz Santana was scheduled to be in the Chi for a show date alongside Twista, Trina & L.E.P. Bogus Boys at Adrianna’s. Juelz was a no show, and those in attendance figured Juelz had shitted on the Chi. That turned out not to be the case as Juelz home studio was raided in New Jersey by the Policia. Here he called in to Tone & Shagg (The Hot Boyz) to explain why he skipped the set.
