One of my favorite young emcees (no Stone Cold Rhymin’) Dave Coresh is prepping his new project, The Reach, and today releases the first leak “Fire”. Today also marks the launch of DC’s new website, which you can check for yourself here.

Chicago, IL., – February 10, 2011 – With high intensity levels in different directions “The Reach” is a heartfelt, truthful and relatable project from Chicago based rapper Dave Coresh. Different from the most recent project, “Formal Introduction”, “The Reach” uses hip hop beats, R&B singers and rock samples to set the mood for Dave’s first EP. Produced by Tapez and Stefan Ponce with recording and mastering done at Classick Studios (www.classickstudios.com) , the EP will be released at the top of March 2011.
“The Reach” does exactly what the title says and reaches the listeners on a more emotional level. Dave sets the mood for the entire EP through a series of emotions versus a series of thoughts.“The EP defines what I’m about” says Dave, “It embodies Dave Coresh”. A student at the University of Illinois- Champaign, Dave Coresh’ influences include Michael Jackson, The Beatles and Jay Z. Using a more mature sound, song structure and theme “The Reach” expresses a desire to have a worldwide connection with fans and listeners.
The first single from the EP, “Fire”, produced by Tapez will be released exclusively through davecoresh.com. “Fire” describes the feelings brought to mind when passions are provoked or compromised by competition. In the second verse Dave says “Imagine you in the ring with nothing but your dream. Nobody but your team and they working like a machine”. The track emphasizes that the element of competition is what sets a person on fire. The music video for “Fire” directed by Jon Augustavo and shot in L.A., will be released Febuary 28th. Dave Coresh will be performing the new single at a private listening event on February 26th at University of Illinois-Champaign and February 27th at sponsor and street wear boutique, PHLI (www.phliworldwide.com) located at 1613 E 55th Street, Chicago, IL.
