Besides Hell freezing over this morning, we also have some good news from the Molemen camp: Vakill’s Armor Of God finally has a release date – June 14th, 2011. After years of patiently waiting, we’re finally in the homestretch of hearing what Va’s been working on since 2006’s Worst Fears Confirmed.
The album is now available for preorder here, and you can cop a package (ayo!) including a signed copy of the album, an instrumental edition and a Armor Of God t-shirt. The album features 16 tracks produced by the Molemen’s own Panik & Memoriza, Jake One, Joe Blow & Bluntologist. Guest appearances include Crooked I, Juice, Rhymefest, Nino Bless, Astonish & Mick Luter.
Check out some making of footage above, live from Soundscape Studios.
Vakill is one of the last of a dying breed in chicago. A real spitter that’s strickly about putting real solid ass albums. No lame ass mixtapes spitting over gucci beats or none of that Too many cats in the game now getting away with spitting 8 bar verses and singing in the fucking hook. I think everybody is gonna have to step their pen game up after Vakill shit drop.
Simply greatness that’s witnessed. Legends if I’ve ever seen them. Molemen. VaKill, damn it if The Darkest Cloud isn’t a classic period. I can’t wait for AOG to drop.
Vakill is too dope! I can’t wait to hear this, he said in an interview Armor Of God will be a mixture of The Darkest Cloud & Worst Fears Confirmed. 2 Classics of the last decade, the album is pre-ordered.
these rappers are gonna have to jump back on their skateboards and roll the fuck out when this shit drops. Whoever said masculinity in chicago hip hop is dead needs to get the fuck outta dodge.
legend shit

FIRST OFF LITTLE BOY I AINT VAKILL. VAKILL PROBOBLY WOULDNT RESPOND TO YOUR LIL PRISSY ASS ANYWAYS. YOU SOUND LIKE MY BITCH GETTING ALL FLUSTERED AND SHIT. AS FAR AS ME BEING OLD YOU RIGHT ABOUT THAT IVE BEEN IN THE SCENE FOR OVER 20 YEARS I BEEN TO TWISTAS FIRST SHOWS BEFORE ADRENALYN RUSH. BEEN AROUND LONG ENOUGHT TO KNOW ALL THE WEAK TRENDS AND WHATS GOING TO STAY. YOU WANNA DICK RIDE EVERY TREND THAT COMES THROUGH GO AHEAD, GOOFY. AND WHEN THAT BUBBLE BURSTS AND YOU JA RULE YA SELF REMEMBER WHAT I SAID, BITCH.
I cain’t lie, The Armor of God was looking like Chicago’s version of Dr. Dre’s Detox! But… But, a release date is good, and these brothers know how to put together a complete full album with continuity, not a mixtape, not 16 different producers, but one sound that can define the times, which is lost today. I’m ridin’ wit Vakill on this one.
