Most would imagine that a Derrick Rose-themed video would be shot in Chicago, but in fact, Berg and Vo shot it out in Harlem. Here we have some behind the scenes footage of what I’m sure will be dropping soon.

Patrick Stump feat. Lupe Fiasco – This City

| June 28, 2011 | 3 Comments

Former Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump recruits Wasalu for the first single from his debut solo project, Soul Punk. If you remember, Stump actually produced “Little Soldier” from Lupe’s The Cool album, so this isn’t the first time these two have worked together.

Lu and Patrick (both from Chicago) dedicate this one to the City of Wind.

The Kickdrums feat. Freddie Gibbs – Take Aim…Boom

Apparently this joint dropped on an album that impacted a few weeks ago, but completely flew under the radar until DX posted it today.  Better late than never, no?  Plus anything that samples the intro of The Chronic is good with me.

In other Gibbs news, in case you missed his interview with Complex yesterday, it’s a must read. Gangsta Gibbs lets plenty of rappers have it, and talks about kicking a dog in the head. Check it out here.

Kids These Days – Hard Times

| June 28, 2011 | 1 Comment

In case you hadn’t heard, Kids These Days dropped an EP on iTunes today entitled Hard Times. The 8 piece is in good company with the likes of Big Sean, Curren$y and Dom Kennedy who also dropped full lengths today.  Head over to iTunes and cop them all, or at least the Kids’ Hard Times, which is only $3.99.  Here’s a taste of what to expect from the project. Lil Vic is snappin’ on this one…
