Yesterday, Lil Durk dropped one of the very best records of 2013 with his debut Def Jam single, “Dis Ain’t What U Want.” Produced by Paris Beuller, the track is one of Durk’s most honest and sincere to date, touching on a wide range of topics including his father’s incarceration, and the public’s persecution of his music. Not to mention the beat is next level.
Durk and Paris went down to the 305 to write and record the “Dis Ain’t What U Want” and today we have some behind the scenes footage of the monster coming to life. See what went into the track, and what it’s like to be a fly on the wall during a Durk session.
The video (see pictures here) is scheduled to drop next week on April 30, at the same time as “Dis Ain’t What U Want” hits iTunes. The good news? Def Jam is fully behind Durk’s project, and it appears we’ll be seeing a release date in the near future.
