20. Alex Wiley – Club Wiley
Alex has been bouncing around the Chicago scene for a couple of years now, but 2013 found the MC dropping his first-ever solo project. Club Wiley was an eclectic collection of fast-rap spectacles, hilarious parodies, power ballads and introspective tunes that have more than made him a presence in the local scene.
Alex’s “Thug Angel” is the track that probably best describes the rapper, his character and where his sound is headed. He’s found his own lane, and dropped one hell of debut. It also didn’t hurt that he has some heavy hitters like Chance The Rapper, Action Bronson and Freddie Gibbs in his rolodex. You can find us in the Club.
