11. Giftz – Position Of Power
After releasing two solid EPs in 2012, Giftz returned this year with a full length project, Position of Power. Giftz sought out to assert his status as one of the city’s top spitters on Power and he over-delivered with the 17 tracks included. Giftz skills were on full display on tracks like “By Any Means Necessary” and “Go,” and Giftz’ street narratives and raw tales could either send chills down your spine or make you smile. Either way, it made you feel some type of way, and that’s what music is supposed to do. He pays attention to detail, and that paid off on Power. The scary part? Position Of Power is just a small indication of what Giftz is capable of. It was powerful music, man.
