Back with another dope ‘making of’ video is Closed Sessions, who give us a behind-the-scenes look of what went into “Own Man,” the first release from Alex Wiley’s forthcoming project, Village Party. As the story goes, an unfinished version of “Own Man” sat idle for months until Mick Jenkins came through and blessed the track with the inspired verse you now hear. Then boom, finished product.
There is no firm release date for Village Party, but Alex has landed a very MASSIVE look, as he was just nominated for XXL’s Freshmen 10 spot. Yeah, that’s big biz, right there. You can now vote for Wiley on the XXL site if you’re so inclined.
