Congrats are most definitely in order for Jeremih, as it was announced over the weekend that his current #1 hit, “Don’t Tell ‘Em (featuring YG),” has just snagged a gold plaque. That’s 500,000 sold. In an era when even the biggest and most heavily promoted artists struggle to move units, pushing 500k of a single without a video is no small feat. This accomplishment feels super organic, as this record has not been shoved down our throats or had a ton of promotion.
Thankfully Def Jam has seemingly fast-tracked his new album, Late Nights: The Album, which was set to drop on September 30th. However, with only 15 days out it seems unlikely Def Jam will stick to that date. In fact, Amazon now has the album up for pre-order with a street date of October 7th. No official word from Jeremih’s camp has been released, however, so we’ll just stick to 9/30 for now.
