As I mentioned last night, Chicago held an impromptu celebration of the life of the late-great Don Cornelius on Milwaukee Avenue–with a Soul Train line as far as the eyes could see. Hundreds of fans, supporters and spectators showed up to pay their respects. Here we have some footage of the event.

The City will pay tribute to Chicago’s own Don Cornelius tonight, with an outdoor Soul Train line down Milwaukee Avenue.
