Video: Danny Boy Interview

Posted on June 23, 2009 by Andrew Barber

Remember Danny Boy? Of course you remember Danny Boy; the other crooner on Death Row Records during their heydey in the mid-to-late 90s. You know, “Picture Me Rollin”, “I Ain’t Mad At Cha”, “Slide N Slide” ?  No?

A lot of people forget that he was originally from the Westside of Chicago and came in the game through Shorty Capone.  I actually thought about Danny Boy [II] the other day when Do or Die’s “Nobody’s Home” came on (or was it Twista & the Mobstaz “Front Porch”), and I was like “what the eff ever happened to that guy”?   You know, other than that one time he tried out for American Idol.

Well, in this candid 6 part interview with TupacNation.net , Danny Boy discusses what hell he’s been up to, where he is now, how he got signed to Death Row, his relationship with Suge, and his early beginnings with Shorty.  It’s actually very informative, and answered a few questions I’ve always had.  The years haven’t been necessarily kind to most of the former Death Row inmates, let’s be serious.
