Video: Rhymefest – “Give It 2 Me”

Posted on December 6, 2009 by Andrew Barber

Filmed guerilla style.

Friday night I attended Mark Bazer’s hilarious talk show The Interview Show, which he holds monthly at The Hideout (which is an incredible watering hole in case you’re wondering) – you may remember seeing some videos from his show here in the past (he’s had ‘Fest and Kidz In The Hall on, previously).

Anyhoo, the “headliner” this month was Rhymefest, who stopped by to talk about his new album El Che, why he doesn’t use debit cards, Obama and much, much more.  We were also treated to a performance of an upcoming El Che track “Familiar Faces” and he premiered his Konne Rok-directed clip for “Give It 2 Me”.

‘Fest explained that he and Konee Rok had been watching YouTube clips of old, racist cartoons and that inspired the backdrop for the video.   He says kids are taught racism, even if they don’t know it, from the time they are children.  Hopefully the high quality clip will drop soon.
