Big Boi took the stage in front of 20,000 fans this evening on the final day of the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. General Patton came out and performed a string of hits including old Outkast favorites as well as a few cuts from Speakerboxxx. At least one track from every Outkast album was performed, sans Idlewild, of course. Heck, Daddy Fat Sacks even let Purple Ribbon-affiliate and hypeman C-Bone perform a couple joints and had his new band Vonnegutt rock out with him as well.
About midway through the set, Big Boi asked the fans if he could play some of his new shit. Of course the crowd obliged (who are we to tell the man NO?) and he ran through about 5 tracks from Sir Lucious Left Foot. The video above captures Big running through “General Patton“, “Follow Us” and “Daddy Fat Sacks”. He later closed out with “You Ain’t No DJ”, but unfortunately Yelawolf didn’t stick around town to join him for the collabo. Oh well. However, Chi-Town’s Finest Breakers, a brother/sister crew of kid breakdancers took over the stage during “I Like The Way You Move”. A super dope set all around and I was glad to catch as the last time I saw him (and 3 Stacks) perform was all the way back in 2000. Yikes!
