Twista – The Perfect Storm [Cover Art + Final Tracklist]

Posted on September 28, 2010 by Andrew Barber

People were up in arms over the last leaked tracklist, and well, if you were unhappy then, I can’t do nothin’ for ya man.  Hit the jump for that official, confirmed tracklist.

And is this really the cover art?  I mean… I’m always available for consultation.

The Perfect Storm drops October 26th.

In other Twista news, be on the lookout for him to appar on the remix of Freddie Gibbs’ “Face Down”.  Keep your eyes open for that one.  Monsters of the Midway at their finest.

1. Darkness (feat. Dawreck)
2. Up To Speed
3. Make A Movie (feat. Chris Brown)
4. I Do
5. 2012 (feat. Tia London)
6. Sweat’n While You Waiting (feat. B Scott)
7. Back To The Basics
8. Hands Up, Lay Down (feat. Waka Flocka Flame)
9. Call The Police (feat. Ray J)
10. Cocaine (feat. Yo Gotti)

Cover is on point , best one in a long time but 11 songs??! Come on dog. You a major artist with a major label behind you with all that $$ you gettin paid & 11 songs is the best you can put together??!! Weak Sauce!!

Then again.. Adrenaline Rush was only 11 tracks + a remix… But that was 96′.. This is 2010!! It should have at least 18!! At least for my $$ worth!

11 tracks would be great if he was the type of artist that gives all great tracks all around………………but twista is not the case and always throwing huff-ass filler but i guess he’ll throw in bonus tracks everywhere to get the extra dollars. by the way twista, this cover looks like its for a 2002 mixtape. all he needs is sweat and wrist bands and some throwback mitchell n ness jerseys

Ok i really hoped that there would be more tracks on the album, but obviously that is not happening. So all i can hope is that the 8 tracks i haven’t heard are all hotness then it will be worth my hard earned dollar.

The reason he and many other artists are putting 11 and 12 songs on their albums is mechanical royalties. Major labels being the chi-sty company’s they are, the only pay mechanical royalties on 10-12 songs, so if you put more songs on your album, you’re pretty much fucking your money up. Read up on the music business.

^Isn’t Twista independent? So why follow what artists on Major Labels do?

@ NYATU… True statement normally they will expect you to put on 10-12 tracks on your album & thats what you get paid based on other than the album sales… @ Lo He is independent but that does not mean that he is pressing & distributing the album him self, that why most independent lables are tied in with a lable that has major ditributions & thats how you get your album on the shelf. Now days ITunes & other electronic sales sell you the album & the artist adds more tracks as they will get most of the funds for the album since it is not being pressed & holding shelf space.

This cover is instantly recognizable as trash. I believe it’s indicative of the music industry as a whole. With the ease of technology these days people tend to overdepend on it. Here, instead of a simple artistic photograph or something we get a crappy photoshop job that any child could do. As for music, artists can easily get beats (now made by the pound) and record countless songs. None of them have any heart. 11 songs were recorded for Adrenaline Rush, 11 were on it. Each song was important. Now, Twista and others record hundreds and some exec picks out what they think will sell the most ringtones. This album, featuring trash like Wacka, Ray J and Yo Gotti and no name average rappers like Dawreck is going to be quickly disposable. This’ll be the first time I download and do not buy a Twista album, like I wish I had done with Adrenaline Rush 2007.
