Video: Lupe Fiasco Interview w/ Hip Hop Chronicle

Posted on February 18, 2011 by Andrew Barber

Lu is over in the UK swaggin’ super hard right now.  Yesterday, he met with Sumit at the Hip Hop Chronicle to discuss all things Lasers, as well as some other interesting topics:

– “The Show Must Go On” was a song chosen by the label to be the first single

– “State Run Radio” was a song inspired by Trae The Truth being banned from radio, Lupe says that’s one of his favourite tracks off Lasers.

– The first time Waslu met Lupe Fiasco and his reveals his first rapping name, Lyrically Underground. The rapper explains why he still feels lyrically underground.

– Lupe also reveals he should release a brand new Japanese Cartoon and new album later this year.

I guess I never knew that Lu’s first rap name was Lyrically Underground (sounds deep).  I did know that he was in a group with Mick Luter at some point called El Producto and/or Food & Liquor.  Someone needs to dig those tapes up (if they even exist).
