New artist for ya ears:
Last week I sat down with up-and-coming R&B artist Rotimi to gain some more insight into the man Hova has coined “the future of R&B”. With only 3 major tracks released within a 1-year span, Rotimi has done what few independent artists could only dream of. He reached the number one single in all of Africa, and is worshiped by the homies over at MTV Africa. Ro has gained most of his success all while studying at Northwestern University where he majored in communications and business.. #dointhedamndance.
Personally; my heart is in hip hop and I’m not one to go out of my way to listen to R&B music unless it’s D’Angelo, but this dude is cold. He’s down to earth and an extremely hard worker: at the end of the day, I have mad respect for that. It’s dope to see artists keeping it correct with the vibes and working hard for what they want. His debut mixtape, “The Resume” drops next week, and there are going to be some ill events and listening parties going down in the loop following the drop.
