Break it down.
In January of 2009, Berg dropped his Yes We Can mixtape with Kidd Domination which featured a StreetRunner-produced track entitled “Hustla”. With SR being one of my favorite producers out of Florida, I was excited to see him and Berg working together. When Twista’s Category F5 album dropped later that year, it featured a StreetRunner-produced track titled “Hustla” too. Same beat, same hook. Actually, if you listen to Twista’s track, it sounds like Berg is still on the hook. I’m pretty sure that’s him. I’m just curious as to who actually recorded their track first. Did Berg pull a Drake and record his own version of a track he only had hook duties on (see “Still Fly”)? Or did T really like the joint and decide to cop it from Berg & SR? Who knows.
