G-Side @ Pitchfork Music Fest

The Alabama-duo are probably the least-known hip-hop act at this year’s Pitchfork Music Fest, but you wouldn’t have known that if you overheard any of the rumblings from the hipper-than-thou audience: “These guys are the next Outkast,” “They’re like the new age UGK!” Well, as of now they’re not that, but their set was pretty official. Granted, I wasn’t super familiar with their catalog, but the few songs I did know, they ran through with plenty of energy.

The crowd was fairly sizable for G-Side, and their call and response chants did enough to bring the cool patrons to life. However, if I hear the word “swag” again (which I expect to about 3000 times during Odd Future’s set today) I’m going to lose my shit.

More pics after the jump…
