Mixtape: Agacee – Humble/Hubris

Posted on July 15, 2011 by Andrew Barber

Presented by WIMH

I could write something, but this guy Agacee went in and wrote something about each and every song and why he made them, so I’m going to let him have the floor. More rappers should let readers/fans into their inner-psyches.

1. The Humble Intro: this is me breathing life into the rap game, through truth…I’m explaining who my music plans to reach, and also its a view into the things that make me who I am…it sets a good tone to start the project. Prod. by Hip-Notic
2. Manifesto Pt. 2: If you’re familiar with the first Manifesto ( http://www.box.net/shared/eolmyg7fxm ) this is a follow-up of me spitting the raw facts of my life, from baby momma issues, the absence of my son, the birth of my daughter, and my quest to make it…I rhyme over the backdrop of Mos Def’s “Panties” instrumental.
3. Love Prose: is poetry about a beautiful girl I meet, and my dream for her and I to get acquainted – a good listen
4. Whatever: prod. by Bartendaz its a high energy song, motivational, big hook…
5. Intermission: prod. by Loren McGee is about a relationship gone sour, and trust being thrown out the door…but the love is STILL there…
6. Pyramids & Hieroglyphs: my rendition of Kendrick Lamar’s “Hii Power” I use part of his hook…I’m speaking on the ills of the world we live in, and the day to day struggle to keep your head above the ground.
7. Millionaire: prod. by Dubya Beats is a very personal story behind the crafting of this song…I was a a low point financially, couldn’t even get gas, and evokes the thoughts of you viewing your situation from a different perspective…instead of focusing on what you DO NOT HAVE, you should focus on what you WANT…
8. Jerry Maguire: The sample of Jerry Maguire speaking to his agency after he released his Manifesto to the entire company…people felt where he was coming from but didn’t have the balls to step up and make a difference. So this song is my take on the rap game, a venting session, with sort of a chip on my shoulder that I need to channel into the proper direction on the quest to be heard by the masses…prod. by Hip-Notic
