This just in: Kells will serve as the honorary Grand Marshal at tomorrow’s Bud Billiken Parade & Picnic. The Pied Piper will join Rahm Emanuel as co-host for tomorrow’s legendary annual event. You can catch Robert on the Green Team float tomorrow.
“[Kelly] contacted us to be in the parade,” said Beverly Reed-Scott, CDC’s sustainable futures program director. “I told his people about the Green Team and we went and met with him, and he loves the Green Team and what we’re trying to do.”
Kelly will be riding on the Green Team float and plans to bring his family to the picnic, according to Reed-Scott.
“We’re very excited about that,” she said. “He’s coming home and he wants to help.”
