Video: Common – Freestyle x “Ghetto Dreams” Live @ Moet Rose Lounge

Posted on September 21, 2011 by Andrew Barber

Yesterday, Common returned to his hometown of Chicago on a promotional terror for his new book: One Day It’ll All Make Sense. After a day full of press, Com appeared at the Moet Rose Lounge (shout to Team Epiphany) on the rooftop of the Wit Hotel for an impromptu performance and party.

I’m happy to say that after almost four years, I was finally able to sit down for an interview with Common. After doing interviews with the Chicago Tribune and NBC, Common was on his way out, but made an exception when he heard FSD was in the building: “Oh you know I gotta do Fake Shore.”

So we had a nice conversation about The Dreamer, The Believer, working with No I.D., his future plans with Nas as well as the next single. Look for the interview (in collaboration with TEHO Media) coming very soon.

In the meantime, in between time, check some footage from Common’s set. He kicked a minute plus freestyle as well as performed “Ghetto Dreams” (below)
