Demi Lobo – Blow Up

Posted on November 14, 2011 by Andrew Barber

WGCI radio-personality Demi Lobo is also a singer/songwriter (who knew?!), and today the songstress drops off the first leak from her upcoming album. The track was produced by frequent Rockie Fresh-collaborators, The Cartoonz.

Also, on November 19, Demi is hosting a live concert and video release party for her “Wonderland” video, the trailer of which can be seen below the cut. Details on the event on the flyer above.

I’m just gonna say this..I can’t be the only one thinking it. This bitch is swaggerjacking Nikki Lynette. When this chic started out she was wearing some purple dress all the time. Then Nikki Lynette started getting her buzz up. Now this bitch try to sound like her, dress like her, everything. And its not good music. I can listen to everything and appreciate every type, but this girl is average. What is so good about bragging about being a singer-songwriter when your songs are not even memorable? No shade, I’m being honest. So Nikki Lynette is the black rock chic, I didn’t like it at first to be real but her lyrics made her grow on me then her singing made me a fan of a lot of it. All that MTV shit proves its working for her. Now this girl got a rock guitar on her cd cover and dressing crazy in her video? The real issue here is why can’t Chicago artists be original? You see something work for somebody else and now we got a dozen Lupe’s, a dozen Kanye’s, and now a generation of Nikki Lynette’s. I’m not even on some shade, just a humble fan of the site who likes good music and my city. I know Drew is trying to give people exposure but we got a lot better artists here who deserve some spotlight on here instead of this girl. She not terrible but we got enough unoriginal people in this game

thank you for your comment. Nikki Lynette and I are great friends. We have an understanding. She knows where she lies in the industry as do I. We both have different angles that we take with our music, and there is a clear line where Nikki’s music stands and mine. You are fighting a useless argument. Thank You.

I’d like to hear u name who Niki Lynette is copying. She is not a hipster (she hates them) and she isn’t like Janelle Monae, (I have been a Janelle fan since the first EP so I would know.) She does hip hop -rock, she the only girl aside J Davey but they don’t sound similar at all. So I’d like to know what indie act you say she copies because she does not remind me of anyone new. More like Gwen Stefani or Pink, if they could rap. This Demi girl sounds ok, I don’t know why they post a pop song on here, if it is not exceptionally good people gonna hate and show no appreiation

First of all, although i love Kanye, but that song wouldn’t be as hot without Otis Redding. Thats not being original, the words are marginal. it’s Otis music in the background coupled with Kanye and Jayz money. Most rappers out here are copying each other that’s why there’s 1 million of them and only are a few that are signed. That’s what makes America great you can do what the HELL you want. And, sorry BN, her song writing is dope and Universal said so. Nikki is great also, and she’s in her lane, everyone gets a chance in this world, whether you believe it or not.

You people in little ole Chicago kill me…thinking that one song, one style or one dress, or one video belongs to ONLY one person. Look around..Nikki Minaj copied lil Kims style and did it better, Rhianna stole from a white girl, Lady Gaga swaggered her dead writers complete image. Beyonce, and the list goes on. If you think anything in this game is really original you are a fool. Watch the train run. Demi Lobo you go girl and be original, beautiful and talented!!
