Bernie Mac Gets A Chicago Street Named After Him

Posted on February 27, 2012 by Andrew Barber

Add Bernie to the esteemed list of Chicagoans who have streets named in their honor. The street is allegedly 69th & Sangamon.

ABC:

Bernie Mac is getting a Chicago street named after him in a posthumous honor from his hometown.

The stand-up comedian was born in Chicago and developed his stand-up routines in clubs on the city’s South Side.

Mac died in 2008 at the age of 50. The street naming ceremony will take place Tuesday in the Englewood neighborhood.

RIP and congrats to the legend.
