Video: Lupe Fiasco Talks Being Blackballed, What’s On His iPod, B*tch Bad & More

Posted on August 1, 2012 by Andrew Barber

Yesterday evening, during his press run in Chicago, Lupe Fiasco hit the Coke Lounge at WGCI for a sit down interview with Connie. In front of an audience of some of his biggest fans, Lupe discussed a slew of topics including radio, being a freedom fighter, his political views and more.

He also discussed his new record “B*tch Bad,” and the ramifications it may or may not have on the youth. He later states that his favorite lyricist is MF Doom, and runs through the artists in his iPod (spoiler alert: there’s hardly any rap). One of the most interesting things he touched on, however, was the industry blackballing he received after his disparaging remarks about Barack Obama. I figured he’d felt the heat for that one, but had no idea it was that bad.

Check out the clip above. Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 drops 9/25.
