Chi City up-and-comer Roy Frech just unleashed the artwork for his upcoming release, Amazing, due out later this fall. The paper bag and the corner have a meaning deeper than you might expect, so I’ll give the floor to French to explain:
I just finished my cover which is me standing on 79th and cottage grove, with a paper back over my head cut out so i can see my surroundings lit on fire as a weapon of who ever tried to hurt me. The bag is over my head because my block is dangerous and will come after me if they found I was the kid with special leadership powers. The cover is based on, me being this gifted kid that has to be cautious of my surroundings so my talents can get me out of the hood, 79th, and cottage grove.
He also added:
“Amazing. It’s more than just a title but a philosophy. “The Amazing movement encourages people that ever had low self-esteem or felt weak about themselves to feel AMAZING about themselves with everything they do to feel mentally strong and confident. I once felt low and it wasn’t working for me until I change my way of thinking,”
French even blessed us with a new record from Amazing, simply titled “French.” Check it out.
