Produced by 110% Pure
Remember “Karl Malone”? It dropped a few weeks ago to much fanfare, and was the very first release from Tree and producer 110% Pure’s project, Trillin’. Typically, I only like Tree raps over Tree beats, but this one was sonically different. It strayed from the bizarre sample flips that Tree prefers, and featured a harder edged sound. Well, Tree and 110 kick it up a notch with this new leak entitled “What I Want To.”
This leak comes from Digital Plugg & Dough From Da Go’s Meet Da Plugg 5 mixtape, which dropped today and is hosted by Tree. The project features a slew of newly released records from some of the Chi’s finest, as well as choice cuts performed by MC Tree G himself. However, this joint caught my attention immediately due to the restlessness and urgency of Tree’s raps. It’s the right way to kick off any project, and Tree did just that on Meet Da Plugg. I’m not going to say it’s as crazy as Jay’s Dynasty intro or anything, but cot damn if it doesn’t punch you right in the gut.
