Since leaving Lupe’s First & Fifteenth label and retiring in 2009, Gemstones’ musical output has been spotty at best. In fact, Gems last release was On The Road To Glory: My Story which dropped in August of 2010. But despite going quiet for a few years, he’s been steadily working, crafting his latest opus, Elephant In The Room. Gemstones, who was once FNF’s top prospect, is back with a project that proves he hasn’t lost a step.
In an age where rappers drop mixtapes at alarming rates (Gucci Mane has already released three in 2012), not many rappers can take such a long hiatus and return like they never left. Especially when the players of the local scene have changed so drastically since the summer of 2010. But Gems remains. Confident and defiant. You can’t ever count him out, and that’s why he’s the Elephant In The Room. Understand?

Keep putting The Lord First, he will raise you to the heights He wants for you…Shalom
