Founder/owner Shabazz of Chicago retail shop The Bassment recently announced that they will soon be closing their doors for good. Since opening it’s doors in 2002, the store has been a one-stop-shop for the latest in streetwear and music. The rear of the store even served as an intimate concert venue to newcomers looking to master their set.
Definitely a staple of Chicago Hip-Hop that will be missed. Although officially closing shop at the end of December, The Bassment plans to go out with a bang with a show by Rakim and DJ Tony Touch on the 1’s and 2’s. Check out the plugger here.
