Video: Kanye West Talks “Chicago Hip-Hop 101” In 2002 [Unreleased]

Posted on April 17, 2013 by Andrew Barber

Shot and chopped by Danny Joe Sorge. Directed by Coodie & Chike.

Back in 2002, when Ye was fresh off the Blueprint and arguably the hottest new producer in hip-hop , he’d taken a trip back to Chicago to catch up with some of his old comrades to talk shop and chill. Channel Zero, who followed Kanye throughout his early days in the biz, were on hand to catch Ye talking Chicago hip-hop while getting a cut from Ibn Jasper.

They talk about Kanye’s former groups and the inspiration he got from Dem Dare and legends like Reggie Know. Later in the video, Creative Control follows Reg as he introduces his new toy line, then it cuts back to Kanye talking more about Reg.  This is required viewing.
