Incrediboi followed with an EDM-influenced beginning set, that then included songs from Dat Punk, Rob Base, ODB and of course “I’m Different.” It was an all around bad night for Incrediboi as the judges panned his efforts.
Dynamix, our homie, had the best set of the night in my opinion. He used most of the tracks mentioned above, but he slowed down “TROY” to use the turntable as his own instrument. He then cut the “Middle finger up to my competition” part of “I’m Different” to toss barbs at the other DJs. It was great! Spolier alert: He didn’t win, but he should have.
Fly Guy was pure 100% struggle. He had an early screw up and just lost steam after that. His tears backstage had me feeling for him. Seemed like a nice guy, but this challenge just wasn’t for him. It was pretty much set in stone that he was leaving as soon as he got off the tables.
Chris Karns, who seems to win every week, wowed the judges yet again with another above average set. Kid Capri even hinted that he’d likely win MOTM. He was making his own beats live and all types of crazy stuff. It was between him and Dynamix as to who would win, but Karns inched him out yet again.
In the end Fly Guy was sent home, and Karns was victorious again. Check back next week for a review of episode eight. It’s heating up.
