Video: Chance The Rapper – Acid Rap Live @ Metro

Posted on May 26, 2013 by Andrew Barber

“Smoke Again”

The first of Chance’s two sold out shows at Chicago’s storied Metro took place last night. With Sir Michael Rocks also on the bill, the crowd was as hype as I’d seen in some time. It was all ages, so you already know the young bucks were TTU. And while the material from 10 Day received a warm response, it was the new stuff from Acid Rap that really brought the house down. The crowd literally rapped Chano’s set word for word.

Most importantly we were introduced to the Turn Up Turnips, who I hope play a bigger role in Chance’s shows/marketing campaign going forward. For the high octane “Fuckutahmbout” the stage was stormed, but one of my favorite parts of the evening was when Chance hosed the crowd with a fire extinguisher for “Smoke Again.” We have footage of that right above. If you have tickets for tonight, be sure to get their early. And if you don’t, the Save Money Army will be scalping a handful of loosies out front prior to show time.
