FSD: Do you think the winners and losers of each competition were fairly picked?
JayCeeOh: For the most part. For the team challenge I personally thought that the no one came close to me and Chris Karns but they said it was a tie between Loczi and Incrediboi. Other than that I thought the judging was pretty fair.
FSD: What’s next?
JayCeeOh: A lot of tour dates. I just put an original remix to the French Montana track “Fuck What Happens” ft. Mavado which has been doing really well. I’ll be spinning my birthday party in Vegas tonight at Liquid Pool and Haze Nightclub as well as a string of tour dates in Florida, which will be my first official gig as SMIRNOFF’s official DJ. We will be hitting Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando and Miami for SMIRNOFF’s Florida Fresh Mix Tour—should be dope!
FSD: What do you plan on doing with your winnings?
JayCeeOh: Invest and save my money! I want to be smart with it and not blow it all. Although, I will probably by one or two nice toys. I was thinking about getting a Range Rover and upgrading my studio.
FSD: Who was the first person you called after winning?
JayCeeOh: My Dad because he has been a huge supporter of my career for my whole life. Both of my parents are so supportive of all creative outlets and very proud of what I’ve done with myself.
FSD: Has your phone been blowing up since winning?
JayCeeOh: Yes—it’s been nonstop texts, tweets, facebook messages etc. It’s pretty overwhelming but amazing to get that much love.
FSD: Any advice for rising DJs?
JayCeeOh: Practice, practice, practice. It takes times and you need to practice to perfect your craft. Networking is key. Everywhere you go you should try to meet as many people as possible. You never know down the line how your connections can help you out. Finally, stay humble and stick to your guns.
