Caleb has my musical tastes pegged, because The Jones has immediately struck a chord with me — it’s right in my wheelhouse. This is 2013 jiggy. I’ve had this for less than 24 hours and I really haven’t stopped listening. I’m never too quick to call something classic (that takes years — not hours or days, dummy), but I do see The Jones as something I’ll be revisiting for a while. Caleb is a triple threat on this one: producing, rapping and singing. He handles the production on almost every track, with Xtreme, Blended Babies, Nez & Rio, Gift and even his Dad (Steve “Stone” Huff) contributing as well.
You want my attention? Sample a bunch of shit I loved in the 90s, and put a new twist on it. I swear he was reading my playbook. Fun lyrics, good energy and no bullshit. Everything about The Jones is entertaining. 2013 has really been a great year for music and today it gets even better. Don’t miss the concert on Friday.
