On the 58th anniversary of the cold blooded murder of Emmett Till, Dwamina Drew of Chicago brand Enstrumental has joined forces with acclaimed artists Lupe Fiasco and Hebru Brantley for a short film titled, The Assassination of Innocence. The film combines art and history to bring Emmett’s story to life, and bring awareness to a tragic event that’s largely been written out of history books. The encounter, the murder, the funeral, the trial, the reaction and the agony are all laid out here.
The film was directed by Drew and shot by T.E.H.O. Media. Look for the movie’s Chicago premiere sometime in September. But for now, check out the powerful trailer.
