The newly launched Myspace premiered Jimmy on October 15, where Pivot Gang was featured as the artist of the day. And the results were stellar — Chicago industry chatter places Jimmy among the top projects dropped in 2013.

Every song was produced by Saba with the exception of “Sunny Day,” which was handled by Joseph Chilliams. They came up with the idea of the actual Jimmy narrating Jimmy because they couldn’t get him incorporated as much as they wanted, and his contributions to the project weren’t completed before he went in.

The mixtape includes twenty songs with four interludes, and the group is happy with the public’s reaction to Jimmy, and already have a slew of other projects on deck. They plan to release another mixtape before the year’s end, and Saba is hard at work on his second solo mixtape, Comfort Zone.  John Walt is also prepping the release of his debut solo mixtape, Get Happy 2.0, but at the end of the day, they’re just ready for Jimmy to touch down. Jimmy, who called during the interview had this to say: “I really feel like I am there because I am still putting in work. We are pivoting, we moving. It’s like I never really left. I expect them to keep on moving. Never slowing down.”
