Video: Netherfriends – Uptown Boys [Artist Cut]

Posted on May 5, 2014 by Andrew Barber

Directed by Peter Campanelli

This weekend, I was lucky enough to catch a rare live set from Chicago artist Netherfriends — and I was more than impressed with what I witnessed. People have been telling me for quite some time that he’s amazing live, but I’d yet to see it for myself. Nether’s style is a bit off-kilter, but that’s right up my alley. He’s truly a one band who plays drums, handles an MPC, guitar and bass, sings, raps and cracks jokes — at the same damn time. It’s hard to explain really, it’s just something you have to see for yourself.

Anyhoo, the performance lead me to dig deeper into his catalog, and his new project P3ACE comes highly recommended. Seriously. Check that out.

A few months back Nether dropped an official video for his single “Uptown Boys,” but a couple days ago he unleashed the “artist cut” of the clip, which I find more entertaining (both versions are dope, though). Enter his crazy world above.
