Back and better than ever is Westside boss baller, ZMoney, who returns to the main stage after taking an unexpected yet short hiatus this past Spring. His grandiose return is Friday, the 4th of July at Reggies for a $10 show. He’ll be playing his biggest hits as well as unreleased records from his forthcoming trilogy, 3mpire.

Today, in celebration of his return, the Chicago Reader did a nice piece on Z and his upcoming endeavor. Says Leor Galil:

West-side MC Zernardo “ZMoney” Tate exudes nonchalant cool. He name-checks the likes of Ferragamo, Gucci, and Prada, sounding so zoned-in it’s like he’s in some sort of trance, his barely articulated syllables delivered with magnetic confidence. I generally don’t care to hear about the big-money lifestyle Tate raps about, but the way his sure-footed, leaned-out flow seesaws between fast and slow keeps me listening. He debuted last summer by releasing two mixtapes on the same day (Rich B4 Rap and Heroin Musik), and later this summer he plans to drop three mixtapes simultaneously under the name 3mpire.

Read the full piece here and be sure to go check out Z at Reggies on Friday.
