We’ve been doing FSD close to seven (gasp!) years now, and all of my time with the site, I’ve never seen Common and Twista grace the stage together. If its ever happened, I missed it. But all of that changed last night, as during Common’s closing set at AAHH Fest, he brought out, and I quote, “the first rapper to ever come out of Chicago.” Twista came out to the classic “Po Pimp,” where he ran through his verse and then went right into “Overnight Celebrity.” Unfortunately, Kanye didn’t come out for “Slow Jamz,” but it was dope to see all of these talents on the same stage last night.
Also, Common and Twista are both 22 years in, and both dropped albums in 2014. Think about that.
