DGainz, who rose to national prominence in 2012 for being the man behind the lens of the budding Chicago scene, has gone from music video director, to feature film man. That’s right, Gainz first movie is set to drop in early 2015, and today he’s shared the official trailer for his (movie) directorial debut, 3. The movie sounds pretty crazy, so we’re very much looking forward to what D put together.
Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1988, Duan “DGainz” Gaines grew up loving music videos movies more than school. At the young age of 18 he started shooting music videos. His directorial debut came this year 2014’s The Movie “3” about “A 3 DAY JOURNEY OF AN ELEVEN YEAR OLD BOY LIVING AMIDST THE VIOLENCE AND TURMOIL OF THE STREETS IN CHICAGO… WILL HE MAKE CHANGES IN HIS OWN LIFE IN ORDER TO SURVIVE?” DGainz received wide critical and YouTube acclaim with a video, “LOVE SOSA (2012)” he directed for then signed Interscope artist, Chief Keef, which earned more than 40 million YouTube views — the first independent shot rap video to do so. Now he has directed his first feature film, The Movie “3”, screenplay by Jon Puooillo and Kaleb Searcy, Executive Producer, Vincent E. Norment.
