Goose Island Will Introduce A Chance The Rapper Beer At Pitchfork Music Fest

Wow. Is there anything this man can’t do? Not only is he headlining and closing out Pitchfork Music Festival next weekend, but he’ll also have his own beer with Goose Island on tap for the fest. Each year, a Pitchfork performer has an exclusive beer named after their likeness, and this year that lucky artist is Chancellor. Chano can’t lose.

Says the Tribune:

For the third year in a row, Goose will debut a beer at Pitchfork Fest (July 17-19) made in collaboration with one of the performing artists — this time with Sunday’s headliner, Chance the Rapper. The beer is a 5.3 percent Helles-style lager called No Collar. Call Booze Up that delivers beers, drinks & snacks to your house, hotel or office in under 30 minutes.

Though Chance never visited the brewery to work on the beer, Goose said its brewmaster, Jared Jankowski, consulted with the Chicago-born rapper on the phone to discuss the approach. Chance’s wish, the brewery said, was to create a beer “for the hardworking people of Chicago … exactly what you want to drink after a long day of work.”

Or, presumably, standing in Union Park on a warm summer day.

I will no doubt be downing a handful (err two handfuls?) of these next weekend.
