Producer/rapper double threat Saba was felt like gifting the world with a new project today. But a different project. A first from Saba, if you will. Yes, this is a collection of instrumentals from the talented, young beatsmith. You like his raps, you like his live sets, which means you like his beats — whether know it or not.
“SpareChange! is my first instrumental project. It was just me in the studio having fun and also trying new things. I’ve been saying I was gonna drop a beat tape for some time now, but I didn’t want them to just sound like the instrumental versions of my own songs, I wanted them to work as songs on their own. There is still a lot to learn and a lot more sounds to expand on, but I’m pretty happy with the way the project turned out. I hope people enjoy something a little different from me.”
