Over the course of the past year, St. Louis-born artist Khori ⁴ has been a mainstay on Fake Shore Drive. His output was extremely frequent, but recently he’s been a little more reserved. Well, we can assure you he’s been working and has a lot of big plans on deck for the rest of 2015 and the new year — and he’s poised for a takeover of sorts.

We recently caught up with Khori to talk about this dope new release, “Est. 90,” life and what he has up his sleeve for the immediate future. A great record, and a great interview. Do the right thing and check out below below.

FSD: Tell us about “Est. 90”

Khori ⁴: “Est. 90” is a story of me my girl against the world. We’re on a mission to live life to the fullest not letting anyone get in our way. Set in the spirit and mentality of the 90s, and a hook singing “So long I’m so gone” spelling how off into our own world we are. “Hop on this boat we can float to Forever-land, and never land.”

FSD: It’s been a little while since we’ve heard something new from you. What have you been up to?

Khori ⁴: Man, I’ve been working like crazy, taking care of my son like crazy, perfecting this new project like crazy and just bringing myself back to that comfortable spot I’m used to, so I can continue to create. Since I’ve moved back to St. Louis I’ve been bouncing around from studio to studio trying to find the right place. I’ll most likely end up getting my own spot and setting my equipment up again.

FSD: What’s the next move for Khori ⁴?

Khori ⁴: Right now I’m approaching the release of my 2nd EP and working with OTG (On The Grind MGMT, home to Sir The Baptist). At the same time I’ve been working on a special project with my long time friend Will Rise. We have a band together called “Lovers and Killers” — hip hop/ Rock / progressive type shit. I plan on premiering that material early 2016.

FSD: Sounds like you’ve had a busy few months. How do you juggle it all?

Khori ⁴: The past few months have been rough as hell, I can’t lie. Before I moved to Chicago back in 2012 I sold my jeep and lil pick up truck so when I moved back I was immobile and you can’t do anything in STL without a car. That along with my other responsibilities kinda had me jumping hurdles. I just bought another Wrangler so I’m back in the game now.

FSD: What’s your plan for 2016?

Khori ⁴: In 2016 I plan on releasing “40 Acres”, dropping a few mixtapes ( for my day 1’s), Lovers and Killers, more videos, more shows and just taking it to the next level period.
