Today would’ve been JDott Trife’s 32nd birthday. Sadly, he didn’t see it. But we will forever remember him and make sure his legacy lives on eternally. Cancer has hit Chicago’s rap community hard over the past few months. We’ve lost Trife. We’ve lost Timbuck2. It’s not easy, but we must make sure they live on through their music. Their stories need to be told. Their songs need to be heard.
So today we’re happy to present 3 Days Before Jesus, JDott Trife’s three-song EP he worked on prior to his death with producer Nascent. The plan was to complete a full-length project, but God intervened. Thankfully, they were able to knock out these three solid joints, which we’re giving you today. All produced by longtime friend Nascent.
Trife was born on December 22nd — three days before we celebrate Jesus’ birthday. So it’s only right they give it to you as a gift. Trife will forever be missed, and we wish him a happy birthday from beyond. Again, our condolences go out to his family and friends this Holiday season.
