Nas’ annual Mass Appeal-sponsored ‘Live at the BBQ’ show at SXSW took place last night in Austin. And during his set, he premiered “The Sickness,” a J. Dilla rarity recorded in 2001, which was produced by Madlib, that now features a verse from God’s Son. The track will appear on Dilla’s forthcoming posthumous album, The Diary, which drops 4/15 and can be pre-ordered here.
The sound quality isn’t great, but the preview sounds promising — even if Dilla didn’t actually sign off on this. Oh, what could’ve been. Check it out below.
